A once great horse trainer is cast aside by his rich businessman boss when he stands up for a horse whose career is cut short by a broken leg. Considered worst then dead by the owner, he gives it to the trainer as a severance gift and which ultimately sets him on the lofty goal of winning the Breeders' Cup Classic.
