Introduction

Many of the latest chipsets for Intel based systems are starting to require DDR2 SDRAM.  AMD has yet to begin supporting DDR2.  DDR2 is supposed to be the successor to DDR.  It will be in due time once the price drops down to the level of DDR and the performance exceeds that of DDR.

OCZ Technology is well known for their high performance memory.  We have reviewed many samples of their products and have not been disappointed yet.  In the past, DDR2 memory has been plagued with high latencies which reduced its performance below the cheaper and more available DDR.  We wanted to see if some of the best memory money can buy will be able to spark up the performance of DDR2 based systems.  We have to see if the OCZ DDR2 PC2-4200 Platinum Enhanced Bandwidth Limited Edition Revision 2 Dual Channel can meet this challenge.
