First Impressions and Specifications
If there is one word that sums up a first impression of this CPU cooler, it would have to be HUGE. As you can see by these pictures, the fan is larger then a hand. When I first looked at it, my thoughts were of whether this setup would even install in my case, let alone stay there once it was in. The weight of the cooler was also of great concern. Weighing just less than 2 lbs, I was concerned that my motherboard would snap in two once installed.
Once I got it out of the packaging, however, and took a look at the very solid set of bracketing, the weight was not longer a big concern. The system comes with a very solid and sturdy bracketing setup, which was easy to connect, and held the CPU cooler firmly when installed. The size of the cooler was ultimately not a big concern for my case, but I could definitely see it being a potential issue for those with tight, small form factor cases.
The packaging for this heatsink cooler was very secure and sturdy and the entire setup came in thick plastic casing with small plastic bags for the brackets.
