Nice & shiny.
In the early 1900s, critics were skeptical about the potential of airplanes in combat.  William H. Pickering in 1908 once wrote that "another popular fallacy is to suppose that flying machines could be used to drop dynamite on an enemy in time of war."  Scientific America also was quoted on July 16 1910 as saying: "To affirm that the aeroplane is going to 'revolutionize' naval warfare of the future is to be guilty of the wildest exaggeration".  These beliefs turned out quite untrue, when planes do not drop mere sticks of dynamite, but nuclear bombs and atom bombs (equivalent to 18000 tons of dynamite!)  The true potential of air power was revealed in World War II, and air power in naval warfare was essential.  From the makers of the hit flight-sim IL-2 Sturmovik comes Pacific Fighters, a game that concentrates on the nerve-racking battles in World War II over unforgiving waters.

Some IL-2 Sturmovik gamers wanted a game designed around a warfront with more popular (and

familiar) aircraft, since the eastern front during World War II was mainly between the Russians and Germans.  Many people wanted to fly some American planes, since it was mainly U.S. airpower that turned the war around.  Some popular U.S. aircraft in World War II were the P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lightning, and the Corsair.  Also, some gamers wanted a change from the usual inland battles over Germany and Russia, and instead wanted naval battles.  Now Maddox Games, the developer of Pacific Fighters, has delivered.  Working off of their already excellent flight-sim IL-2 Sturmovik, Maddox Games brings the intense dogfights and battles to the high seas and Pacific islands.
