The Sims 2 is the first true sequel to the best selling PC game of all time â?? The Sims. Selling 1 million copies in its first 10 days on the market has marked this game as EAâ??s fastest selling title for PC.

Life of a Sim

In the family creation screen you can customize your Sims in many ways, their looks, clothes, mood, and aspirations. You could literally spend hours creating new Sims.

The basic day to day life of your Sim is similar to the original game; they eat, bathe, work, and sleep. Itâ??s what you do with the rest of the Simâ??s time thatâ??s new, donâ??t over eat or theyâ??ll get fat! And if you do max out their fitness, their youthful good looks wonâ??t last forever, theyâ??ll soon be elders waiting to retire. Their life is now followed from birth of the infant, to toddler, to child, then teenager, adult and elder.

With that being said, eating, bathing, working, and sleeping have all changed slightly. Meals can be varied depending on cooking skills or type of appliances available. Bathing can turn into a soothing bubble bath. And sometimes work comes home with a Sim, daily homework for the kids, and career making or breaking decisions the player can choose from. Sleeping, well thatâ??s the same - itâ??s the bed thatâ??s changed. Now a Sim can snuggle up to his romance interest, or maybe even go farther, how about starting a family together?

Memories of traumatic or exciting events will be stored for each Sim, these can be used to build that Simâ??s story line. The Story Mode can be used for individual Sims or for the entire neighborhood. In it you can insert pictures and write the life stories of your Sims or their neighborhoods.

Previously your Sim would only walk around with a green or red jewel denoting their level of comfort. Now there are gold and platinum levels which can only be reached by fulfilling a Simâ??s aspirations. There are several aspirations to choose from, though as a child the aspirations will be simple ones usually fulfilled by family contact. As a child grows up to be a teenager you will be able to choose an aspiration for him. At this point the main goals the teenager will want to achieve will be based upon their aspiration choice. Completing these goals will award points which can be spent on strange items, anything from a money tree to a love Jacuzzi.
